Bluetooth headphones not working with Zoom. Thread starter apsteinbrecher Start date Jan 26, Status This thread has been Locked and is not open to further replies. Joined Jan 26, Messages 3. Whenever I try to use Bluetooth headphones during a Zoom meeting, I can’t get any sound to play from any application on my computer including Zoom unless I leave the meeting or change to a non-Bluetooth audio device.

I’ve searched all over for solutions and nothing seems to work. Here’s what I’ve tried: -In Zoom, selected the “Headphones” as the speaker -In Zoom, selected “Same as System” as the speaker -In Zoom, checked that the volume was not low or off -Restarted zoom after changing audio settings -In Windows, checked that the volume was not low or off -In Windows, in the Device Manager, checked that the Bluetooth drivers were up to date -In Windows, in the “Sound” menu “Playback” tab, checked that the headphones are enabled -In Windows, in the “Properties” menu “Advanced” tab, unchecked “Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device” -In Windows, in the “Volume Mixer”, checked that Zoom was not low volume or off -Restarted computer The headphones in question work very well outside of Zoom.

I’ve tried this with two different pairs of Bluetooth headphones made by different companies and both of them have the same problem. They connect to my desktop through a SoundBot Bluetooth dongle. Let me know if you need any other information. Couriant James. Joined Mar 26, Messages 43, Zoom seems to take out any other sounds while you join the Zoom meeting from what I have seen. I will need to look at the settings. Still no solution to this problem. I’ve noticed this only occurs when Zoom is set to use both the speakers and the microphone in my Bluetooth headphones.

If I change the mic to a different one like the one in my webcam , I get audio from my speakers. Of course, the microphone in my webcam is awful so I’m still looking for an answer here. Did your headphones have software to use? Is there a reason you are not using your headphones for the zoom calls? Also to confirm, are you able to hear sound when you use the Test Speakers? I’m not aware of any software for the headphones.

I just connected using Bluetooth and they worked outside of Zoom. When I try to use my headphones for Zoom meetings, I can’t hear anything, not even from other programs. I cannot hear anything when I use “Test Speaker”. This only happens while Zoom is running.

These headphones work great for everything else. As Seen On. Welcome to Tech Support Guy! Latest posts.

Zoom wont play through bluetooth.Bluetooth headphones not working with Zoom

Achieving the correct balance between your background music and the volume of your instruction is critical in ensuring that you are heard and understood over your soundtrack. A lot of the common audio issues with Zoom calls are the result of your background music being picked up by the same microphone that you are speaking into.

You can adjust your Zoom settings to prevent this from happening. Other factors can also play a part, and there are several things, outlined below, that you can try to improve the quality of your audio. If you aren’t already a Bookwhen subscriber you can learn more about our online event booking system including Zoom integration here , or sign up for a free trial here. You need to ensure that, as much as possible, the music that is shared with your attendees comes through your device rather than the microphone that you are speaking through.

Step 1. Join the call it’s probably best to do this before your attendees arrive if possible. Changing this setting will not mute your microphone but, as well as the mic audio, you will also share any sounds including music that are playing on your device.

With your Zoom settings adjusted all you need to do is start playing the music you wish to include in your class. This could be via a streaming service Spotify, Apple music etc. You can control the volume of your music from whichever app you are playing it from. If you are unfamiliar with the settings you can always play a track as you introduce your event and check that others can hear before getting started with the event proper.

Once your class is over don’t forget to stop the music via your music player app – simply removing your headphones will work for you, but not everyone else on the call! By law, you are required to hold the correct licence in order to play music in any public environment, online or not. You should ensure that you have the right to exhibit the music you will use prior to your event see ‘Alternative music sharing methods’ below for a method that does not require a licence.

If you’ve shared your device’s audio through your Zoom settings, as described above, your microphone doesn’t need to hear the music for it to be heard by your attendees. In fact, your audio quality will be improved if the microphone doesn’t pick up the music at all.

If it’s possible for you to connect headphones to your computer ideally without wires via Bluetooth, though wired headphones would work too if it’s safe for you to use them then you can listen to your music using these and ensure that your microphone only has to pick up the sound of your voice.
